So our team created a new way to automatically search, review and manage information from public registries, credit bureaus, property/asset valuation sites and a growing range of trusted KYC data streams across the world.

 

Today we have offices in Glasgow, London and Sydney and a rapidly expanding international team.

 

About the Role

This is an awesome opportunity to take our product to the next level by ensuring that our software has a global KYC data footprint by integrating data with automation to deliver tangible value to our business customers. 

 

You will be a critical member of the product team responsible for delivering the data products and features which are key to the vision and strategy for encompass. To achieve this, you will be part of a squad that includes a technical team of engineers, QAs, UX, technical architects and subject matter experts.  Working within the Product team, your role is to execute and own the delivery of client and product led projects. 

 

The role will require you to work with various internal and external parties to understand and define the requirements that typically make up our agile backlog of features and stories to deliver the product roadmap.

 

This is a full time, onsite, opportunity in our Sydney office.


 

Responsibilities

Working with the Head of Product, Senior Product Manager, UX Designers and other stakeholders, you will

 

  •   Take ownership of features on the roadmap and drive delivery in partnership with the squads.
  •   Clearly and concisely articulate and manage product development requirements, through written and verbal means, breaking down and refining product functional specifications and user stories, and mocking-up user journeys (with the help of UX Designer as needed) and basic visuals / flows to support delivery where required.
  •   Work with agile development teams to understand product features and functionality so that the team can break this work down into their sprint backlogs.
  •   Ensure that product owners and development teams operating in an agile environment have all the necessary information and documentation to deliver specific releases and long-term product goals; be available as needed for agile scrum ceremonies.
  •   Be willing and able to go outside the Product Owner responsibilities when required and where you deem it will add value.  Be curious, independent and clear in your thinking and communication.
  •   Take initiative - if something needs done, think clearly about the customer and product value and do it, with purpose and speed. Seek guidance from Product Managers, Head of Product and other stakeholders when needed.
  •   Agree agile release plans and manage the development and QA team within squads through to completion.  Always know what is happening with a release/project and anticipate future status based upon current scope and timelines. Own the release.
  •   Understand the product roadmap deeply - contribute to it, challenge it, break it apart and add customer value at all times. 
  •   Manage and appropriately prioritise required features and the product backlog both within a release and across releases.
  •   Usability testing of designs and features.
  •   Understand the company’s product through-and-through in order to answer team and customer questions and, above all, deliver customer value through the product.
  •   Attend customer and partner meetings to answer questions and understand product requirements to build these back into the product roadmap.
  •   Work with QA to test and manage new features to identify and log improvements and issues to resolve and to build these into further improve specifications.
  •   Analyse the product capabilities, UI and UX to define improvements and realise gaps in the product that fail to meet customer requirements and manage the improvements that need to be made.
  •   Communicate new releases to relevant stakeholders through visual content that can be used as the basis of internal and market communications.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  •   Demonstrable experience in a Product Owner and Business Analyst role.
  •   Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  •   Previously worked as PO for software engineering teams (4-6 software engineers).
  •   Knowledge and experience of agile ways of working, particularly scrum will be very advantageous.
  •   Demonstrated ability to write up user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria as part of an agile process.
  •   Understanding and negotiating trade-offs in software requirements and design.
  •   Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people.
  •   Ability to interpret direction and create structure out of potentially vague and ambiguous direction.
  •   Ability to ask insightful questions to retrieve information from stakeholders, to absorb and contextualise what is being said.
  •   Experience working to demanding timeframes and be able to prioritise effectively .
  •   Able to manage stakeholders and other people’s time if you are dependent on them for information.
  •   Ability to model and visualise process flows to convey large amounts of information without relying on text.
