About the role

Encompass are looking for a Commercial Contracts Manager to join us in our new state of the art London office. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to form the lead role in a brand-new business function as the company scales up.

We are seeking someone with the energy, urgency and experience to support the management, negotiation and standardisation of a growing number of large enterprise contracts. This role reports directly to the VP of Finance.

Key responsibilities

Contracts Lead

  • Project manage contracts from issuance to execution, being the go-to person both internally and externally to negotiate all contract questions and concerns

  • Understand the impact of contract terms, and be able to explain them to prospects, colleagues and customers, and negotiate to resolve where appropriate

  • Work with stakeholders to complete and review responses to RFPs, RFIs, etc.

  • Work with sales, finance, legal, delivery and customer success to monitor contracts post sale to manage execution, delivery, renewals and maintenance

  • Lead compliance and risk reviews & audits, maintaining contract filing

  • Review of companywide commercial contracts and agreements to reduce risk and standardise process 

Business Improvement Champion 

  • Work closely with commercial business heads and outsourced legal team to streamline and bring efficiencies to the complex process of navigating procurement and legal stages within enterprise level services agreements

  • Focus on continuous improvement to standardise services agreements, monitor compliance and performance, formalise approval processes and shorten sales cycles

  • Establish governance procedures to track, measure and report on progress and adherence

  • Develop internal training and education programs to upskill internal stakeholders

About you:

For this position it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:

  • Outstanding written, verbal communication and presentational skills with experience in dealing with C-level

  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor across all business teams to support the strategy, negotiation and execution of enterprise agreements

  • Demonstrable track record of negotiating and completing multi-million dollar enterprise vendor agreements

  • Willing to take responsibility, make decisions and recommendations in pressured situations

  • Natural urgency and desire to own projects through to completion

  • Ability to communicate complex legal and commercial matters to non-legal stakeholders

  • Understanding of SaaS and considerations for business risk management

  • Outstanding organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail

  • Bonus: Bachelor’s degree majoring in Law 

  • Bonus: experience in a fast growing, agile SaaS company
